Q & A with Freetown Village Summer Camp

What makes your camp unique?

Our summer camp gives kids a fun, low-tech space to unplug, connect, and grow. Campers build real-world skills while exploring history, discovering their community, and diving into hands-on activities that spark curiosity. With plenty of teamwork, face-to-face connection, arts and crafts, and creative performance opportunities, they develop confidence, interpersonal skills, and a strong sense of belonging.

What activities are offered at your camp?

Academic enrichment (math, language arts, social studies), arts and crafts, theater, hands-on projects, manners and etiquette lessons, team-building activities, chess, and weekly field trips.

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?

The ratio for most activities is 1:15.

How much time do the campers spend outside?

Weather permitting, our campers will spend 60 – 90 minutes outdoors. There is a morning break (20 minutes), recess (45 minutes), and an afternoon break (20 minutes).

Does the camp provide lunch/snacks or do parents need to provide them?

Unless your child has food allergies or needs to follow a specific diet, lunches and a morning/afternoon snack will be provided.

What is the typical daily schedule for campers?

How old are the counselors and how are they trained?

Our lead instructors are active/retired educators with years of professional experience. Classes are co-facilitated with our junior instructors, who are former campers themselves, are high school/college age students.
