Free Admission to the IMA during Winter Solstice Celebration

Share the season alongside family and friends at the Indianapolis Museum of Art’s annual Winter Solstice celebration! Explore the festive holiday display at Oldfields-Lilly House & Gardens, with hundreds of luminaries and vintage Christmas décor adorning the historic estate. At this all ages event, snap a selfie with Santa Claus, sing along with carolers, watch blocks of ice transform into sculptures, meet arctic wildlife, take a carriage ride, and create your own holiday gifts to take home. Warm up by the fire with sweet and savory treats from General American Donut Co., Pi Indy Pizza and Sun King Brewing Co.

Still looking for a last minute gift? Find one-of-a-kind jewelry, hand blown ornaments, cozy scarves, seasonal home plants and more at the Lilly House Christmas Shop and Museum Store.

The IMA partners with Mid-North Food Pantry again this year, to make the holidays happier for the families that they serve. On this free IMA Community Day, guests are encouraged to bring new toys and non-perishable food items to donate. At 7:30 p.m., Santa Claus will deconstruct a portion of the colorful, 50-foot Christmas “tree” of toys in front of Lilly House to gift the toys to Mid-North Food Pantry for the holidays.

WHEN: Thursday, Dec. 22 / 5–8:30 p.m.

WHERE:
Indianapolis Museum of Art
4000 Michigan Road, Indianapolis, IN 46028

COST: Free admission to IMA campus all day (11 a.m. to 9 p.m.)  / Suggested donation to Mid-North Food Pantry
