Wasson Nursery Free Kids Workshop

Wasson’s free kids’ events and workshops give children a chance to get creative, explore nature and enjoy hands-on activities throughout the season. No registration is required, and activities are first come, first served while supplies last. A parent or guardian must accompany all children.

Beaded Plant – September 5

Kids can create a colorful beaded plant in a small decorative pot to take home. This workshop is recommended for ages 6 to 13 because it uses small beads and materials that may present a choking hazard.

Let’s Get Wild – September 26

Enjoy wild animal presentations from Barnyard Party Pals along with pumpkin painting, fall-themed tattoos, chalk art, coloring and seasonal games. Wild animal presentations take place at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., and food trucks will also be available.

Kids’ Spooky Plant Workshop – October 3

Kids can pot a live plant in a Halloween-themed container and decorate it with spooky seasonal accents, then take their finished planter home.

Trick or Treat – October 24

Kids can dress in costume and trick-or-treat at stations throughout the garden center. The Halloween event also includes pumpkin painting, costumed staff and a costume contest with a Halloween Gift Basket for the winner.
