Skunk Saturdays

The Earth Discovery Center’s resident skunk, Stinkerbell, steps into the spotlight for a short training session with her handler. Guests gather in the main exhibit hall to watch positive-reinforcement training up close and learn how animal ambassadors practice target work, stationing, and calm handling skills. Naturalists share skunk facts, from stripes and scent glands to diet, habitats, and how wild skunks help keep ecosystems in balance.

This is an indoor, drop-in program designed for all ages. Expect a brief demonstration followed by time for questions with the trainer and staff. The skunk remains in a secure pen for her comfort and safety, and public touching or handling is not permitted.
