Late fall is one of the best times of year to spot owls. Zionsville Parks and Recreation’s Owl Prowl starts with a look at the owls that make their home in Zionsville, then heads out with a naturalist to try to observe some in the wild.
Participants should dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes or boots. Flashlights are allowed but must be covered with a red wrap to protect night vision for both people and owls. The program meets at the Prairie Pavilion at Carpenter Nature Preserve and is for ages 6 and up. The cost is $5 for residents and $7 for nonresidents, and all participants must register.
