Events at Strand Theatre

Comedian and YouTube creator Alex Clark brings his variety show, Alex Clark's Stupidity Circus, to the Strand Theatre in Shelbyville. The act mixes comedy with circus stunts, from meat cleavers flying over volunteers' heads and nunchucks swung past raw eggs to Clark teetering atop a tall circus ladder. The show is written with the grown-ups in mind and welcomes kids, in the spirit of movies like Shrek or Toy Story: some jokes go over kids' heads, and the tricks are for the whole family. Clark has nearly 4 million YouTube subscribers and has appeared on Disney, the Las Vegas Strip and the Netflix Is a Joke Festival. Advance tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids under 12. At the door, tickets are $30 and $15, and a facility fee applies. Doors open at 2 p.m.
