French Lick Scenic Train Rides

Climb aboard for a timeless journey through the hills and forests of Southern Indiana. Departing from the historic 1907 limestone depot in the heart of French Lick, this 90-minute train ride is the perfect way to experience the region’s renowned natural beauty, which is especially vibrant during the autumn months.

The Scenic Journey & Burton Tunnel

The train travels on a winding, 20-mile round trip through portions of the magnificent Hoosier National Forest. The highlight of the trip is the passage through the historic Burton Tunnel. At nearly half a mile long, this 1907 tunnel offers a unique look into the area’s rich railroad history. As you ride through, look for the slight “corner” in the middle where the two construction crews didn’t quite meet up perfectly!
