Families and friends are invited to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a day of artistic expression, cultural connection, and community. Guests can reflect on Dr. King’s vision of justice, peace, and equality through the arts by creating symbolic memory pins for a collaborative community artwork and making one to take home. The day also features family-friendly storytime sessions highlighting Black authors, musical performances, a guided wellness activity, and opportunities to explore archival material through a digital walk of The King Center archives.

Throughout the event, visitors can listen to live performances, join docent-led tours in the galleries, and attend a special presentation by guest scholar Corey N. Reed, PhD. A donation collection for food and new socks runs alongside the programming, giving families a simple way to participate in service while they engage with the day’s activities.
