Asian American Alliance Inc. (AAAI) is set to host its 18th Asian Fest on May 11, 2024, at the Indiana Historical Society from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., in celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The festival, which is open to the public at no cost, aims to bring a taste of Asia to Indiana, showcasing the state’s diverse population of over 175,000 Asian American and Pacific Islander residents from more than 45 countries.
Attendees can expect a variety of live music and dance performances by over 15 arts institutes throughout the event’s duration. Lilly Hall will offer a range of arts and interactive activities for all ages.
An integral part of the festival is the cuisine, with a variety of Asian food and beverages available to enjoy. Additionally, AAAI provides complimentary health screenings and lifestyle advice.
AAAI President Rupal Thanawala emphasizes the dual purpose of Asian Fest: it is not only an event for entertainment but also an educational experience that offers insight into Asian cultural practices, including music, art, language, and history.
