ComedySportz Indy is Improv for the Whole Family

If you were familiar with the ComedySportz Indy (CSZ) theatre in the Mass Ave neighborhood, then you know it’s a comedy show built for the entire family to enjoy.

Unfortunately, when the pandemic hit and audiences were not able to congregate in small, enclosed places, the future of theatre venues were jeopardized. ComedySportz shows were suspended for 15 months.

The good news? ComedySportz Indy is back at a newly reopened theatre in Avon! You can find their family-friendly improv show at Red Curb Comedy, performing Saturday evenings at 7 p.m.

Improv Comedy for All Ages

The “sport” in the comedy presentation is named after the game-like atmosphere, which includes audience members ages 4 to adult. Two teams of comedians make up scenes, songs and other games on the spot and with the help of a referee, the audience votes and a winner is crowned.

The comedy show is similar to the TV show “Whose Line is it Anyway?” and the variety of players and audience members makes the show different every time.

“The new partnership with CSZ Indy is going to be fantastic and bring a whole new fun energy to the theatre,” says Will Pfaffenberger, owner of Red Curb Comedy in Avon. “It’s time for our community to get out and laugh again — no matter your age!”

Improv Classes for Kids

Have a young comedian at home? CSZ hosts improv classes for kids in middle school and high school, plus an improv summer camp at Footlite Musical’s Hedback Theatre (1847 N. Alabama St., Indianapolis) on July 12 and July 19, 2021. Visit cszindianapolis.com/ticketpage-education for more information.
