Beauty and the Beast at Downtown Imax

Disney’s live-action release of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST comes to the biggest screen in the state with abundant fanfare. The IMAX Theater in the Indiana State Museum will host a preshow Disney-themed costume and tea party beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, prior to the 10:45 a.m. 2D screening of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.

The IMAX Theater in the Indiana State Museum will have tea and shortbread delights from Tina’s Traditional Old English Tearoom, a photo backdrop and activities available for the little princes and princesses dressed in costumes 45 minutes before the Saturday morning screening. Admission to the tea party is free to any costumed children and their parents with the purchase of their film tickets. For the comfort of the littlest guests, we request that no attendees over the age of 12 dress in costume.

Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is a remake of the studio’s animated classic that refashions the traditional characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience. The new film stays true to the original music and film while updating the score with several new songs and scenes. The IMAX Theater in the Indiana State Museum is one of the premier theaters to see the film, as it will be presented in an expanded IMAX 1.9:1 aspect ratio to fill 26 percent more of the screen than in standard theaters.  Screenings of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will begin on March 17 and advanced tickets and reserved seats are on sale now.

“Get your tickets ahead of time, grab the kids and dress them as their favorite Disney character for the return of a classic,” says Craig Mince, theater manager at the IMAX Theater in the Indiana State Museum. “And don’t forget, tea will be served promptly at 10am.”

In addition to offering exciting and educational cinematic options, the downtown IMAX validates parking in the White River State Park parking garage for moviegoers. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.imaxindy.com.
