Oh, fall. We feel you sneaking around the corner with your cool mornings and crisp smell in the air.

So before we get all the pumpkins and sweaters and colored leaves on ourselves, we know there’s a fun way to welcome fall: Visiting apple orchards near Indianapolis for apple picking!

And with apple varieties ripening soon, it’s a great time to try out your favorite fall recipes. Use this apple orchards guide to help plan a perfect autumn’s day and maybe a perfect meal too.

Stuckey Farm

Adrian Orchard

Anderson Orchard

Dates: U-Pick begins September 5

U-pick, country store stocked with seasonal produce. After you pick your apples, stop by the Concession Stand for homemade apple cider or a caramel apple! This year’s Apple Festival & Craft Fair will take place on Septemeber 26-27.


Whiteland Orchard

Visit this “farm market” to shop the best seasonal goods, including apples, cider, pumpkins, and more.


Tuttle Orchards

Address: 5717 N 300 W, Greenfield
Dates: U-Pick Apples: U-Pick apples will be limited this year due to May freeze. Apple picking will begin Sept. 19 and last approx. 1-2 weeks

Head out to pick your own apples, or enjoy curbside pick up from this apple orchard. Due to the May freeze, apples will not be ripe enough to pick until September 19. This year you may need to walk up to a ½ mile to reach the apples that are available for picking as we are opening the new orchard located behind current u-pick orchard.  If you prefer not to walk, apples will be available in the Farm Store. Pleasant View Orchard

Beasley’s Orchard

Road-trip worthy

Enjoy a selection of 50 different apple varieties, Asian pears, blackberries, and more, all pre-picked at the perfect time for ripeness (no u-pick). Say hi to their many animals, try your best to get through the corn maze, hit the super slide, and pick up a pie on your way out. Use their “Pick the Perfect Apple” guide, for the perfect apple for every occasion.

We highly recommend you call before you go, as weather and crowds can affect U-Pick conditions and hours. With most of these apple orchards on social media, be sure to also check those outlets for pictures and updates, too!
