Clifty Falls State Park

Madison, Indiana | Website

Clifty Falls State Park, located in the southeast part of Indiana, is home to several must-see waterfalls, including Clifty Falls, Little Clifty Falls, Hoffman Falls and Tunnel Falls. The largest of the four is 60 feet of roaring water dropping down a stair-step rock formation.

Follow a 3.4-mile round trip trail to see the majority of the different falls. And if you’re interested in additional adventure, be sure to pick up trail five along the way. Along trail five, hikers can find wooden steps that lead into a small cave called Brough’s Folly. Although the cave is unfinished, it leads out to Tunnel Falls, where you can walk below the falls for an extra special view.

France Park

Logansport, Indiana | Website

The France Park Falls near Logansport are a magnificent sight cascading down a large rock formation. In fact, the entire park was built around an old rock quarry, so we don’t know if the waterfall was already present or a result of mining in the past. Either way, hikers can enjoy five to seven miles of trails in the area. Visitors have the option of camping, fishing and other water-related activities, though swimming at the falls is not permitted.
