Radio control (RC) cars are a fast and fun hobby, and you might have seen people play with these scale model cars in a park or on the street. But did you know that there are race tracks especially for RC cars, where you can take your racing to the next level?

Here are some of the locations around central Indiana where you can race RC cars.

Advance RC Park

Advance, IN 

Located just northwest of Indianapolis in the town of Advance, Advance RC Park is an outdoor, compacted dirt track with an elevated driver’s stand. The track is open from dawn to dusk, weather permitting. The park has plans to add a second track in the future. 

Indy RC Raceway & Hobbies

Indianapolis, IN 

This hobby store features an indoor RC track, hobby shop and classes for remote control enthusiasts. There is a newly carpeted track for 1/10 scale, 1/12 scale and 1/18 scale racing, and each track features a computer timing system and experienced race director. 

RC Fun Park

Granger, IN 

The largest hobby complex in the Midwest, RC Fun Park features seven acres of RC racing fun. Multiple tracks offer a variety of challenges, including all-season indoor clay track, an outdoor track available to nitro and larger RC vehicles, an outdoor clay oval dome, a crawling course and more. At RC Fun Park, they even offer RC airplane flying space on the vast property. 

TRAK 36

Avon, IN 

The only free and public track in Hendricks County, Trak 36 features an outdoor, dirt track operated by the Town of Avon. A covered drivers’ deck allows operators to stand in the shade as they race vehicles over hills, making jumps and more. Watch for Avon’s annual RC Festival, to test and experience remote control cars, planes and boats at the park.
