Movies at Midtown is back for another season of free outdoor movies in the heart of Carmel Plaza. The 2026 season includes a kickoff screening on May 9, weekly movies from June through September, and a final Halloween screening on October 31. Showtimes are scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and noon and 6 p.m. on Thursdays, with an additional Oct. 31 screening. :
Guests are welcome to bring chairs, blankets and a picnic for a relaxed movie outing in Midtown Plaza. For the most up-to-date details, families should still check Midtown Plaza Carmel’s official event page or social channels before heading out, since movie times can change.

Personally, this is one of my family’s favorite summer traditions. We love grabbing dinner nearby and eating picnic-style on the lawn while the movie plays. Sometimes we bring our own chairs and blankets, but we’ve also had luck snagging one of the couches or tables around the plaza when we get there early. It helps to have a backup seating plan just in case.

Our kids can never resist the splash pad, which is right in view from the lawn, so we always pack an extra change of clothes. It makes for such an easy summer outing where everyone leaves happy.
