3 reasons to celebrate the season with Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol at the Indiana Repertory Theatre

Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol has been a favorite tradition at the Indiana Repertory Theatre for almost the entire 50 years of the Theatre. The play, which is an adaptation of the almost 180-year old classic novel, celebrates the power of kindness, family, and love and brings to life the importance and joy of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Here are 3 reasons to gather your family and friends for an outing to the IRT this holiday season!

A Christmas Carol, Indiana Theatre, Charles Dickens

1. Festive Family Night Out in Downtown Indy:

Located in the heart of downtown Indy, the IRT is close to many other fun holiday offerings. Enjoy a meal or hot chocolate from nearby restaurants, stroll around the Downtown Indy Inc. Circle of Lights® presented by IBEW 481 on Monument Circle, visit local museums for festive displays, and then head to your performance of A Christmas Carol in our cozy and historical theatre! 2. Snow, Sweets, and Selfies:

The set for A Christmas Carol is unlike any other show you’ve been to. Let your imagination run wild amongst the falling flurry of snowflakes and don’t miss the original architecture of the Indiana Theatre along the back wall–this is the only show where that’s featured! For a little extra fun, purchase tickets in our Sweet Seats (center section rows A-F) and get a special chocolate treat from DeBrand Fine Chocolates of Indianapolis on your chair…and maybe some snow. Remember the moment and snap a family photo at the selfie station in the Grand Lobby!

3. A Treasured Tale for Each Generation:

As seen through its many pop culture adaptations, A Christmas Carol is meant to be shared through the generations where the youngest to the oldest can reflect on their experience with Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. The story takes on a special power when seen live onstage, and ‘tis the season for magic and wonder!
