Canal Nights – Weather

July 13 | 6 – 8 pm | Along the Canal Walk of the Indiana State Museum

Join The Indiana State Museum and community partners along the canal walk outside of the museum for a combination of outdoor activities and themed hands-on experiments. Indiana weather can change in an instant. Learn more about why the weather does what it does, signs to look for to tell you it will change and weather safety.

Children of all ages will be invited to join a thirty-minute class where they can learn beginner’s painting techniques while painting the nature around them and drinking juice.

Concerts on the Canal: Sizzlin’ Gregg Bacon

July 14 | 6 – 8 pm | Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center

The Kruse Family Stardust Terrace at the History Center is the place to be on Thursday nights in downtown Indianapolis. The 2022 Concerts on the Canal series features a spectacular lineup of entertainers including Touch of Grass, 45 RPM, Everett Green and Trio, and Sizzlin’ Gregg Bacon.

Animals and All That Jazz

July 14 | 5:30 – 8:30 pm | The Indianapolis Zoo

One of the Zoo’s longest-running events, this series will showcase a diverse lineup of musicians from across the Midwest, covering jazz genres from classic to contemporary, smooth soul to blues, and even blending in the sounds of pop and R&B.

Mermaid & Pirate Party

July 15 | 2 – 4 pm | Westfield Washington Public Library

Cool animals aren’t the only things living in the oceans. Mermaid and pirates also lurk in the depths! Drop in between 2-4 PM and join us for some fun crafts and activities. Costumes are encouraged! 

Movie Night in the Park: Bee Movie

July 15 | 6:30 – 11 pm | W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park

Activities begin at 6:30 p.m., and the movie starts at 8:30 p.m. Bring a blanket or some lawn chairs and enjoy the evening!

Cool Creek Campfire: Nocturnal Animals

July 15 | 7 – 8 pm | Cool Creek Park and Nature Center

Gather around the  Cool Creek Campfifire Ring for songs, presentations, and marshmallows. Whether you prefer scary, cuddly, or exotic animals, Hedgehog Hannah has it all and wants to share it with you. Guests will travel through the desert, the rainforest, the plains, and more to witness the amazing wonders of the animal kingdom.
