Ballet Theatre of Carmel is excited to bring ENCHANTED TALES – featuring THE FIREBIRD to STAR Bank Performing Arts Center, May 24 & 25!
This enchanting show will ignite the imaginations of all ages as a magical bird, mystical woodland fairies, a whimsical dragonfly, a field of lively flowers, and 6 beautiful princesses bring three classic ballet tales of magic, love, and beauty to life on stage!
The Firebird tells the story of heroic Prince Ivan and his quest to win the heart of his true love, Princess Vasilisa. With the help of the powerful Firebird and her magical feathers, he must defeat the evil sorcerer Kashei who holds her captive and threatens to turn the entire kingdom to stone! Complete with fantastical fairies and menacing minions, a glittering golden apple tree and an exquisite royal wedding, beautiful dancing and gorgeous costumes!
Les Sylphides’ mystical forest fairies (the Sylphs) glide effortlessly through the moonlight with a young gentleman poet. An exquisitely beautiful ballet set to the other-worldly music of Chopin, it’s part dream, part vision, part romantic reverie, and 100% delightful!
Anna Pavlova Tribute ignites the imagination and inspires the soul with adaptations of legendary ballerina Anna Pavlova’s most famous roles – the spirited “Dragonfly”, the breathtaking “Dying Swan”, the exotic “La Peri”, and a new work “Search for a Dragonfly” by BTCA Artistic Director Jane Hachiya-Weiner.
Presented by Ballet Theatre of Carmel Academy’s pre-professional performing company, our “Be A Fairy” community program dancers, and special guest artists from American Midwest Ballet, Colorado Ballet Studio Company, and Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Opera and Ballet.

Ballet Theatre of Carmel Academy (BTCA) is a pre-professional ballet academy serving the Indianapolis metro area. We are dedicated to developing dancers to their fullest potential as unique performing artists and exceptional community members. Our academy environment is one of inclusivity and mutual support, and the studio is a place for dancers to learn, connect, and be inspired.
Our highly qualified professional faculty offers training to dancers ages 3 – adult, in ballet technique, pointe, pas de deux, character, contemporary, and jazz. Additional programming includes Boys Ballet, Day Intensive Program, Soloist Initiative, Summer Camps and Summer Intensives.
