We’re halfway through the school year, and by this time, you might see that your child needs some additional help in math, science, writing or a number of other subjects.

Varsity Tutors has a large staff of experienced tutors for everything from Spanish to music, and of course, general courses, as well. Some tutors are trained in working with students who have special needs, and others have full time positions as electrical engineers, ESL teachers or economics, working with students in their free time.

Sylvan Learning is a franchise tutoring service with locations across the state. They offer in-person and online tutoring in subjects spanning from reading, writing, science and more. They also offer homeschool support, study skill improvement and ACT/SAT preparation.
Kumon

A tutoring franchise, Kumon boasts their own special way of helping children excel in math and reading programs. Their program requires two days a week at the Kumon center and five more assignments to be completed at home, aimed at teaching critical thinking and self-learning skills versus memorization. They also have locations across the state.
Huntington Learning Center

Creating individualized programs for each student is the recipe for success according to Huntington Learning Center. They offer experienced tutors in elementary through high school levels, including ACT/SAT preparation. The tutoring service has special programs for ADHD support and study hall time for those that need a quiet space to learn.
