Calling all race fans! Santa knows that racing and Indianapolis go hand-in-hand. Watch as a special police-and-elf escort accompany Santa to The Children’s Museum Of Indianapolis in an Indy Racing Experience 2-seater IndyCar – driven by Ed Carpenter, driver and owner of the #20 Ed Carpenter Racing Indy car. What better way to greet Mr. Claus than with some Christmas cheer? Join The Chorduroys in the Sunburst Atrium for a special sing-along to welcome Santa before he takes his annual ride down the Yule Slide along with one lucky member child. While you are there, be one of the first to check out this years Jolly Days Winter Wonderland.

Santa is flying to Indianapolis, but not in his usual fashion. The annual Celebration Crossing exhibit at the Indiana State Museum will kick off with songs from the Indianapolis Children’s Choir as guests await the much anticipated arrival of the visitors from the North Pole. Watch in delight as Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive on the front lawn of the Indiana State Museum via helicopter. Children of all ages are invited to ride the Santa Claus Express, make crafts and rekindle memories of holidays past as they gaze into the highly animated recreated L.S. Ayres store windows.

WHEN: Friday, November 24, opens at 10 am

Experience the wonder of the holidays in the Arts & Design District with elves, reindeer, carolers from local choirs, trolley rides to & from Bub’s and the most unique Santa house in Indiana. Santa (and Mrs. Claus) will arrive by fire truck at 3 p.m. Activities are free and plenty of parking nearby, the season’s kick-off event takes place in the Indiana Design Center parking lot located at the southwest corner of 3rd Street SW and S. Range Line Road. This event is free and open to the public.

WHEN: Saturday, December 2, 2:00- 5:00 pm

Don’t miss the BROAD RIPPLE Lights Up! Twilight Parade, the city’s ONLY night-time parade. All parade units are festively decorated and lighted, making it a unique experience for families and a wonderful way for the community to ring in the holiday season. Make your visit a memorable one by walking with Santa in the parade! First, find a spot to watch the parade (see the map below for Viewing Stations). Then, when Santa passes you in the parade, file in behind him and follow him to the Firehouse for the lighting ceremony. Kids can pick up FREE glow-in-the-dark necklaces to wear in the parade at the viewing stations between 5 and 5:30 PM.
