Hot Wheels: Race to Win Exhibit Opens Tomorrow at the Children’s Museum

Calling all race fans! The Hot Wheels: Race to Win exhibit has made it’s way to the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis right before the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500. Talk about perfect timing!

This interactive exhibit includes numerous opportunities for guests to learn about the sport, history, science and mechanics of motorsports while having a blast playing with classic, iconic Hot Wheels cars and tracks.

When I told my son we would be spending the day playing with Hot Wheels at the Children’s Museum, he went absolutely crazy. First off, he loves the Children’s Museum so that in and of itself is enough to make him lose it. Then, you add in the fact that we were going to see race cars and have fun with Hot Wheels – his mind was blown. How could all of this awesomeness possibly be in one location?

When we arrived, there was so much to see and do.

Check out real live race cars…..

Watch die-cast cars zoom down tracks…….

Race the clock at the Pit Stop Challenge and see how fast you can jack up the car, change tires and refuel the gas……

Try “driving” a race car of your own…..

And that’s not all. There are numerous places where you can send Hot Wheels flying down tracks and leaping through the air – teaching little ones about speed and aerodynamics. There are pieces of car wreckage, race memorabilia, engine parts and more. You and your family can learn about what makes cars work and how they are engineered, as well as what makes race cars both fast and safe.

And don’t for one second think this exhibit is mainly for the little boys. No way! There are plenty of female drivers out there and this exhibit showcases the racing gear and equipment used by female drag racing drivers as well.

There is plenty of fun to be had for children of all ages at the Hot Wheels: Race to Win exhibit. This is one you won’t want to miss! It is only here for a limited time, opening tomorrow (May 13) and running through July 30th, so be sure to mark your calendar and race over to the Children’s Museum before it zooms away.

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is open daily from 10:00am – 5:00pm. For more information on pricing and membership, please visit their website. The Children’s Museum is located at 3000 North Meridian Street.
