The Ford Wilson Race Of Champions needs your help to find some special children to be drivers in the next Ford Wilson RACE OF CHAMPIONS to be held on September, 16, 2017 at 9 am the Wilber Shaw Soap Box Derby Field.
What is the Ford Wilson Race Of Champions?
The Ford Wilson Race Of Champions is dedicated to providing an exhilarating soapbox derby experience for children with developmental, cognitive, and physical impairments. Our goal is to provide a safe, unique and fun experience for our children and their families. We strive to provide an opportunity to empower children who otherwise may never know what it is like to cross the finish line like a champion.
The Event
For the 19th year the Ford Wilson Race of Champions will take place at the Wilber Shaw Soap Box Derby Field across from Marian University, minutes from downtown
Indianapolis.
The Ford Wilson Race of Champions provides an exhilarating experience for children 8 years and older with developmental, cognitive, and physical impairments,
that would prevent them from participating in a traditional Soap Box Derby event and the thrill of crossing the finish line a champion!
Our six specially designed Soap Box Derby cars partner our children with Professional Racecar drivers to experience what most of us take for granted, steering a derby car
with the wind whipping through their hair down the longest derby track in America.
