Five of my Favorite Things…and the one business that has them all.
What are those five things?
Used Bookstores- I love aimlessly wandering around used bookstores, literally judging books by their covers, possibly finding hidden gems for the minor investment of a few bucks.
Old School Video Games- I don’t play video games often, maybe my kids’ Wii once a year, but sit me down in front of an original Nintendo or Sega Genesis (you know the ones with only a couple of buttons), and I could play for hours as I’m instantly taken back to my childhood.
Board Games- Trivial Pursuit. Operation. Uno. Mousetrap. Yahtzee. Monopoly. Connect Four. A great way to spend some family time together.
Free Food- Eating out as a family of five can get expensive. Finding “kids eat free” nights at restaurants helps take out a chunk of our total bill and makes us more likely to return to that restaurant.
Craft Beer- Mmm beer. I love trying new types of beer from different breweries.
So what is this one magical business that checks off so many boxes on my list of favorites?
Books and Brews.
There are currently three locations in the Indy area: Downtown Indy, Fishers, and the newest location in Zionsville. Our family recently went on a Kids Eat Free Thursday to the Zionsville location for a bite to eat (nachos), a tasty beverage (Charlie and the Chocolate Stout) and some board game fun (Mousetrap and Would You Rather?).
If you’re looking for some place different for dinner out with your kids, or mid-afternoon beer and board games, definitely check out one of the Books and Brews locations. Check out their website for updates, daily specials, events, hours, and all things Books and Brews.
