Celebrate International Vulture Awareness Day at the Ornithology Center with hands-on activities focused on these important birds. Families can enjoy vulture crafts and coloring in the nature classroom, scavenger hunts and a migration obstacle course available upon request.
During the afternoon raptor feeding, visitors can learn more about vultures and meet Matilda the Turkey Vulture and Beaker the Black Vulture. The feeding takes place outdoors, rain or shine, and drop-ins are welcome.
The event itself is free. Park entrance fees apply: $6 per vehicle for Marion County residents, $8 per vehicle for out-of-county residents, or $1 for pedestrians and bicyclists. Indy Parks annual passes are also accepted. Donations to the Avian Ambassador Fund are appreciated.
