On Monday, April 8, 2024, Westfield will be a prime location to observe the total solar eclipse. Totality, or complete coverage of the sun by the moon, will occur at approximately 3:06 p.m., lasting 3 minutes and 18 seconds.
The Solar Eclipse festivities will unfold at Grand Park Sports Campus from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Attractions include food trucks, a performance by the 1985 Band, inflatables, and the eclipse’s momentary darkness. Grand Universe will provide telescopes for educational purposes, with special guest Dr. Mark SubbaRao, Director of NASA’s Scientific Visualization Studio, present on-site.
Admission is available through pre-purchase only and costs $100 per standard-sized vehicle, inclusive of eclipse viewing glasses. Parking for RVs and campers is available at $400 from Sunday to Tuesday in a designated lot, with no overnight options for other vehicles. Note: Individual tickets are not required, and EV charging is not provided on-site.
