On April 8, 2024, Central Indiana will witness its first total solar eclipse in over 800 years—a rare celestial event where the moon passes between the Earth and the sun.
To commemorate this, a special program will be held at W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park starting at 2 p.m. Attendees are invited to stay and observe the eclipse in the park, enabling them to appreciate this seldom-seen phenomenon.
The first 750 guests will receive free ISO 12312-2:2015 certified eye protection glasses, ensuring a safe viewing experience.
Although no specific program is planned at McCloud Nature Park, visitors can still observe the eclipse there. McCloud Nature Center will provide 250 pairs of certified eye protection glasses free of charge while stocks last. This event presents a unique opportunity to witness an extraordinary natural spectacle.
