The Harrison Center opens six new shows during its November First Friday, along with the opening of its annual Winter Window Walk, where artists turn the building’s sidewalk-level windows into themed displays. This year’s theme is Candy Shoppe. The evening also includes dance performances by the Herron High School Dance Ensemble in the historic gymnasium and the Indi Taco food truck in the courtyard. Admission is free, pets are welcome and the event is open to all ages.
Openings include Magic Mountain, oil paintings by Kyle Ragsdale, in the Harrison Gallery and Gallery Annex; Seasons Shift, Justin Vining’s plein air paintings of Indianapolis streets, parks and neighborhoods, in the City Gallery; Orbital Plein by Josh Rush in the Speck Gallery; a juried Indiana Plein Air Painters Association exhibit in the Underground Gallery; Strings Attached, wire marionette figures by Chad Campbell, in the Hank and Dolly’s Gallery; and Remnants and Fractures by Quincy Owens in the Sky Gallery, where a screening of Pioneers of Lockerbie Square also takes place.
