Fall Foliage Flyer

All aboard for a day-long journey into the heart of Indiana’s autumn beauty! The Whitewater Valley Railroad’s Fall Foliage Flyer offers a unique experience that combines a relaxing train excursion with time to explore one of Indiana’s most treasured historic towns. Your adventure begins at Connersville’s Grand Central Station.

The Experience

This 5-hour round trip is a tale of two parts. First, settle in and enjoy the ride as the train makes its way through the scenic Whitewater Valley, showcasing the best colors of the season. Then, the train will pause for a 2-hour layover in historic Metamora, a beautifully preserved 19th-century canal town. This is your chance to disembark and explore on foot. Visit the historic Grist Mill, browse unique artisan shops, enjoy a meal at a local eatery, or simply stroll along the Whitewater Canal before re-boarding for your return journey.

2025 Schedule & Duration

This is a 5-hour round trip excursion, running on select Thursdays and Fridays in October. Trains depart promptly at 10:00 AM from Connersville.

Tickets for these popular dates can sell out, so it’s a good idea to book your autumn adventure in advance!
