Don’t Forget to Use Your End of Year Dental Benefits!

As we near the end of 2020, Children’s Dental Center wants to remind you to take advantage of any unused dental
benefits.

Every year you receive a maximum amount from your dental insurance company –
make sure to use all available benefits. Almost all plans do not let you rollover unused dollars
to the next benefit year. Please find below some tips Children’s Dental Center wants to share:

  • If you’re close to or have met your deductible, it might be a good time to take care of any
proposed treatment in order to utilize your allowable benefits for the year.
  • Under your dental plan, check your annual maximum coverage. For involved procedures,
you can begin treatment in 2020, and schedule additional treatment in 2021 in order to take
advantage of two years’ of benefit payouts.
  • If you have funds set aside in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or healthcare savings
account (HSA), now is the time to schedule treatment so your copayment amounts can
be applied to this year’s deductions.
  • To maximize your savings, if you have a flexible-spending account, use the contents by
the end of the year. Most expire at the end of the year, but some plans have a “grace
    period” until March 2021.

In order to ensure your family’s optimal health, start planning for 2021. Consider scheduling
more comprehensive treatments early in the year and max out your deductible. That way,
subsequent procedures are covered by your insurer at a more generous level.

We hope these tips ensure you are maximizing your dental benefits to their fullest potential
and if we can be of any service finding individualized options for your oral health, please don’t
hesitate to call. Learn more about Children’s Dental Center, visit https://www.babytoothcenter.com/.
