Wanting to do their part to recognize front-line, healthcare workers after a tumultuous 2020, Beasley’s Orchard will dedicate its entire fall lineup to those who have given so much this year.
The Hendricks County fall family tourism destination will stay true to its tradition of harvesting family memories but in an unprecedented way for the family farm when it opens for the fall season Sept. 18.
Their most prevalent agritourism activity, an 8-acre corn maze, has a unique theme each year to honor or celebrate an event or activity. This year, Beasley’s Orchard has partnered with Hendricks Regional Health to use its corn maze to share a well-deserved ‘Thank You’ message to the dedicated healthcare workers battling on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19.
The corn maze reads “Thank You For Your Relentless Dedication.” Phrasing Hendricks Regional Health has used to thank their healthcare workers throughout this year.
But that’s not all. As an additional thank you, Beasley’s Orchard is offering FREE Combo Pass Admission for ALL healthcare workers from any hospital who show their ID badge at admission. Additionally, their immediate household family members can receive a 50% OFF Combo Pass Admission throughout the entire fall festival season.
Beasley’s wants to give healthcare workers an opportunity to find some sense of normalcy during this difficult year while spending quality time with their family and loved ones in an outdoor environment full of fall family fun.
Beasley’s Orchard is also helping in the fight against the pandemic by turning a difficult growing season into a fundraising opportunity. The farm experienced crop loss due to a late frost on May 9, making it unable to offer u-pick apples this year.
So, they have created a unique way for guests to still enjoy the majestic orchard setting by offering apple ornaments for sale to be hung in their apple trees. Proceeds raised from this activity will be donated to the Hendricks Regional Health COVID-19 Support Fund.
Founded in 1946, this third-generation family farm introduced agritourism into its operation in 1986, opening its farm to members of the community, state and surrounding Midwest to allow families to take part in celebrating the fall harvest.
They now host six fall festival weekends from mid-September through October, allowing guests multiple opportunities to visit the farm and take part in their many agritourism activities including:
- Corn Maze
- Hayrides
- U-Pick Pumpkins
- U-Pick Apples
- Apple Cannons
- Barnyard Bonanza
- Straw Mountain
Fall Festival Weekends Include:
- September 19-20: Opening Weekend
- September 26-27: Hometown Heroes
- October 3-4: 34th Annual Heartland Apple Festival – Weekend 1
- October 10-11: 34th Annual Heartland Apple Festival – Weekend 2
- October 17-18: Dog Daze at the Maze
- October 24-25: Halloweekend
- October 31: Halloween
To provide a safe environment for families during this fall season, Beasley’s Orchard has worked closely with the Hendricks County Health Department to create a plan to conduct its operations in a safe manner. The farm will open their agritourism operation EVERY DAY starting Sept. 18 and lasting through Oct. 31.
Traditionally, all the farm’s fall activities only opened to the public on weekends. By opening every day, Beasley’s Orchard hopes to minimize large weekend crowds and spread attendance throughout the entire fall season. Weekday admission is discounted in relation to weekend admission, helping to incentivize families to take advantage of these weekday opportunities.
Beasley’s Orchard is also limiting attendance in congested areas, sanitizing high-traffic areas and much more to ensure a safe environment.
