The Carmel Symphony Orchestra invites you to celebrate the Summer Solstice on June 21 at 5 pm, as they launch their first ever Summer Concert Series at Coxhall Gardens, located on the northwest side of Carmel. The evening will consist of pre-concert performances by various local dance and drumming academies, leading up to a performance by the Carmel Symphony Orchestra as the sun goes down, revealing a full Strawberry Moon against the dark evening sky.
The event will be led by Principal Guest Conductor Joel Smirnoff, with solo performances by Asako Tamura, Cooper Olsen, and the Carmel Jazz Festival Artistic Director Blair Clark. The trio of artists will perform a diverse selection of works, including an original arrangement of Japanese folk songs by Conductor Joel Smirnoff, and will end the evening with special guest Blair Clark performing Stevie Wonder’s “You are the Sunshine of My Life.”
During the evening, guests can also enjoy historic cars sponsored by Artomobilia, food trucks, and drink vendors including Bier Brewery and Sugar Creek Winery. Lawn seating and youth pricing are available, but VIP seating with the best view of the concert and access to the air conditioned Coxhall Mansion and the CSO’s inside VIP Patron Bar are also available. Table purchases provide front row seats and help underwrite the cost of CSO’s education programs.
Tickets are available online, and in the event of rain, the performance will move to Clay Middle School. This concert is presented in partnership with the Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Department.
