The Disney on Ice: Worlds of Enchantment show has arrived in Indy. There’s a lot of fun and magic to be had at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse. *Disclosure: I was given the opportunity to attend this performance for the purpose of a review. My ideas and thoughts are my own.
Your Favorite Characters
Who better to guide the presentation than Mickey and Minnie? They are also joined by some familiar friends: Goofy, Donald, and Pluto. The show kicks off with our favorite narrators leading us into four memorable Disney stories.
Fans are then transported into Andy’s room where the storyline of Toy Story 3 begins. Kids and adults are able to enjoy the tale of Woody and the gang as they try to make it back home in time to go with Andy to college.
The next tale (or should I say tail?) is a magical excursion under the sea. We follow Ariel and her journey as she “wants to go where the people are”. And as you look around the crowd you can see the people and “see them dancing”. It’s fun to see adults and kids alike swaying as they sing along with some of their favorite songs from The Little Mermaid.
The next story is a bit of a surprise, as we get to see some amazing speed on the ice – but the characters aren’t on skates. They’re on wheels. Our favorite crew of Disney-Pixar’s Cars races across the ice and entertains the crowd.
The last story is the most fitting for an icy arena. Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and the cast of Frozen skate through the familiar story of two sisters who conquer a frozen heart.
What to Expect
The skating is phenomenal. Each story has action and choreography that not only narrates the familiar scenes from the movies, but is fascinating to kids and adults alike.
There’s singing. Lots of signing. Your favorite songs and lines from the movies will play over and over again in your head after you leave. There were kids and adults singing and dancing in the aisles as “Let it Go”, “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”, “Under the Sea”, and many others.
There are soft pyrotechnics that go off (while I didn’t consider them to be loud, it is something for some parents to know about) and lots of lights (some blinking and flashing) that help to punctuate the show.
There is a short intermission in the middle of the show with a running time of about an hour and a half to 1:45. Also, just a heads up that concessions stands close shortly after the intermission is over.
