WHAT: FREE ADMISSION to celebrate “the Day of the Children” and to honor the Latino community at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

WHEN: Sunday, April 26, 2015, special activities take place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. (The museum remains open until 5 p.m.)
DETAILS: The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis proudly celebrates a special day originate in Mexico in 1925. El Día de los Niños recognizes children, pays tribute to their importance in society and endorses their well-being. It is now observed in many places around the world. Families and children will enjoy special music, art and culture including:
- Zelaya Mariachi Band – Enjoy being serenaded by an authentic mariachi band
- Yurtfolk Music Workshop – Join in an interactive, bilingual hour of exploring music, stories and folk dance from around the globe.
- Bilingual Storytelling – Classic stories told in both English and Spanish.
- Paper Flower Fiesta – Celebrate by folding your own traditional paper flower.
- Ballet Folklorico Mosaicos – Enjoy exciting and energetic traditional Mexican dance.
- One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure – A SpaceQuest®Planetarium show presented in Spanish shows the beauty and vastness of space.
- Consulate of Mexico – local resource information will be provided for Spanish speaking visitors including free books written in Spanish.
