A Stay-at-Home-Dad Documentary?

One thing I’ve really enjoyed about this blog is all the interactions it has allowed to me to have with complete strangers. People send really interesting and sometimes weird questions to me, some people tell me extremely personal details about their lives and then there’s the typical “normal” conversations you would have with a blog audience (people that relate to your stuff and have stories of their own.)

The other night I opened my email and received the strangest message, it was from a production company wanting to do a documentary of some sort about stay at home dads. This person found my blog and Facebook page and wanted to talk. Immediately the red flag “scam” alert went off in my head. I figured it was someone wanting me to pay to get head shots disguising itself as a TV show or something suspicious like that. I was about to dismiss it as spam, but after talking it over with my wife we decided I should just go for it. I called the lady back and told her a little bit about our family situation. After 15 minutes or so she decided the producer of the show needed to do an interview with me.

Next thing I know I’m setting up a Skype interview with the casting producers of some production company in Los Angeles. Weird right? I later get an email telling me how to dress for the interview and for my make up to be camera ready. Makeup? Camera ready? This is about as camera ready as I get. I guess I will make sure I shower and shave that day. Does that make me “camera ready?”

Stay tuned for additional updates.
