Wait just a gosh darn minute. Museum Day Live! – that awesome event hosted every year by the Smithsonian Institution {you know, THE SMITHSONIAN} where you can explore select local museums for FREE – only comes around in September right? Wrong.
In celebration of March as “Women’s History Month,” Museum Day Live! will return on March 12!
What is Museum Day Live? For one day only, participating museums across the United States – with a wide range of diverse exhibitions – channel the spirit of the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington DC-based facilities {which offer free admission everyday} and open their doors for FREE to those who download a Museum Day Live! ticket.

Why? It’s part of a nationwide campaign to reach women and girls in underserved communities. It encourages all people – particularly women and girls of color – to explore their nation’s museums, cultural institutions, zoos, aquariums, parks and libraries.
How do I get tickets? Tickets are free and available online. All you need to do is register. Keep in mind that one ticket is good for one person + one guest and restrictions note one ticket is permitted per household. Additional guests are required to pay full admission {prices dependent on museum}. Tickets can be printed or shown on a smartphone.
