Looking for a twist on a classic fairy tale? Ballet INitiative, a nonprofit dance collective, is bringing the story of Cinderella to the stage with Cinderella’s Stardom, happening June 3 and 4 at the Basile Theatre at The Athenaeum.
Cinderella’s Stardom
In Cinderella’s Stardom, Cinderella is transformed from a simple girl to a star in this exciting, brand-new ballet. Along with her stepsisters, Cinderella attends an audition for a theatrical show in hopes of becoming the Lead Show Girl. With a little help from her Fairy Godmother and the Fairies of Dance Skills, Cinderella goes from a simple dancer to a well-versed performer. Follow along to see how hard work and a little magic can make dreams come true.
Along with classical ballet, guests will also experience modern dance, musical theatre, and tap in the show. This unique twist on Cinderella will captivate audiences of all ages and leave you smiling and perhaps wanting to try one of the many styles of dance seen on stage!

The family-friendly performances take place on June 3 at 7:30 p.m. and June 4 at 2:30 p.m., at the Basile Theatre at the historic Athenaeum, 401 E Michigan St, Indianapolis.

Ballet INitiative is a project-based dance collective including multiple styles with roots in ballet serving the greater Indianapolis area. Founded in 2020 by five local dancers, the organization’s main goal is making the typical professional dance workplace a positive, updated, and artist-driven environment.
