Women’s Final Four Block Party
April 2-5
The east block of Georgia Street turns into a party featuring DJ, emcee, live music, food trucks, merchandise, fun photo opportunities, face painting, basketball contests with prizes, corn hole, a pep rally, a battle of the bands, and more.

Indy Winter Farmers Market
April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
The Indy Winter Farmers Market – an initiative of Growing Places Indy Inc. – provides a venue for directly connecting farmers and producers to the community and visitors, enabling personal relationships in the exchange of fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy, baked goods, herbs, natural cleaning products and other locally produced food, garden and household products.

Preschool Tech Petting Zoo

Power Recycling Weekend

You have the opportunity to join the Indianapolis Zoo in a mass recycling effort, an activity they hold twice a year. During Power Recycling Weekend, get rid of all your clutter and help the environment too. Conner Prairie’s Early Opening for Guests with Sensory Issue

Conner Prairie is opening an hour early {9-10am} for guests with autism and sensory or developmental challenges on April 9th. It’s a chance to enjoy a quieter experience, with free admission for these guests and their families.

Movies in the Park: The Good Dinosaur

Turn Friday into FriYAY all spring long! Movies in the Park return thanks to Fishers Parks and Recreation at the Nickel Plate Arts District Amphitheater. Held at sunset this April, they offer the perfect Friday night entertainment for all ages. Arrive early and bring a few dollars to purchase your favorite movie snacks.

Harry Potter Read Day
April 16
Children of all ages are invited to join the Brebeuf Preparatory School Harry Potter Club and Nora Branch Library staff to learn some magic and participate in Hogwarts treats and crafts. Drop in anytime between 2-4pm for fun. Costumes are encouraged!

2nd Annual Indianapolis Space Day

Enjoy the 2nd Annual Indianapolis Space Day! This FREE event is once again being hosted by the Ben Davis High School Astronomy Club and will take place at Ben Davis High School. This function will be tailored to elementary-aged students, but all ages are welcome to attend.

Movies in the Park: Minions
April 22
Another in the spring outdoor movie lineup from Fishers Parks and Recreation: Families are encouraged to arrive early and secure their seats as all movies will begin at dusk. Movies are free to the public and families are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and their favorite movie snacks.

Earth Day Indiana Festival
April 23
The annual free, outdoor Earth Day Indiana Festival features 130 exhibitors, live music, local food vendors, workshops,and special activities for kids including making a bird feeder, seed starter kits for vegetables and wildflowers, transforming plastic bags into bracelets, learning about watersheds, live animal shows by Animalia, and much more.

Holliday Park Earth Day Celebration
April 23
Happy Earth Day! It’s a fitting time to marvel at the wonders of nature, as well as, celebrate Indiana’s bicentennial by exploring our state’s natural landscapes. Stop in anytime to make a take-home craft, complete a special Earth Day scavenger hunt for a prize.

Join Tuttle Orchards for their Garden Party this year with lots of fun for the whole family. Mission Monarch: Celebrate Earth Day at the Nature Center
April 23
Celebrate Earth Day by learning all about the beautiful and iconic monarch butterfly and the importance of native plants to butterfly pollinators. Learn how to grow milkweed and take home your own milkweed plants so you can jump-start your garden and provide needed habitat for monarchs.

Movies in the Park: Pixels
April 29
The last in the month’s Movies in the Park lineup this April with thanks to Fishers Parks and Recreation! It’s the perfect Friday night entertainment for all ages. Arrive early and bring a few dollars to purchase your favorite movie snacks.

Kite-Making Class for Kids
April 30
Children ages 6-12 are invited to get ready for spring by making a kite to fly. This program is presented by The Art Lab. Adults with children ages 6 – 8 are encouraged to stay for the program to assist their child if needed. This program also takes place on additional dates at other Indianapolis Public Library branch locations.
