There are many local waterparks and aquatic centers around Indy. But if you’re up for traveling a bit and making a weekend out of it, you’ll find lots of waterparks to explore around the Midwest. Noah’s Ark Waterpark

The largest outdoor waterpark in the United States, Noah’s Ark Waterpark boasts 25 attractions and includes wild rides like the Black Anaconda (think snaky twists and turns) and Scorpions Tail. The Time Warp is the world’s first behemoth bowl ride and the fun keeps going for all ages. Little ones will enjoy Tadpole Bay, with fountains, slides and an 8 foot dump bucket. 

 

Raging Waves Waterpark

4000 N. Bridge St., Yorkville, Illinois

There are several waterparks in the Chicago area, but Raging Waves is the largest in the state. Their claim to fame is The Boomerang, a 40-foot drop followed by twists and turns. Check out Wild Wallabies, a race down two slides to see who gets to the bottom first. The entire family can enjoy the lazy river and wave pool, along with acres of sand and beach-like atmosphere. 

Wildwater Adventure

Wildwater Adventure is included with admission to Michigan’s Adventure amusement park, and guests can enjoy the Funnel of Fear, a two-person inner-tube that drops into a large funnel and slide around and around until finally dropping through the narrow bottom. Lots of waterslides, a kiddie area and wave pools will have the family entertained for hours.

An all-in-one location, Kalahari Resort features an indoor water park with rides like Cheetah Race, sliding down a mat on your stomach in a race to beat three of your friends. Pine Lake Water Park

Pine Lake Waterpark is the perfect summer day trip for families looking to spend the day at the beach. Pine Lake Waterpark, located about 2-hours north of Indianapolis, has been a family-run business since 1922. Guests can soak up the sun each summer at this unique beach/waterpark. 

Silver Dollar City White Water

This Branson water park features 2 million gallons of fun and 13 acres of water rides, slides and waves. Located at Cedar Point in Sandusky, this tropical themed, 38,000-square-foot indoor waterpark is loaded with water activities for all ages, including a 100,000 gallon wave pool, 10 water slides, is heated to 82 degrees year-round. 

Big Splash Adventure

Big Splash Adventure in French Lick doesn’t have as many large slides and attractions, however, if you’re looking for something closer to home, it’s certainly a fun time for all. The Jolly Roger Jetty slide features seven curves and turns for a thrilling ride. The Scallywag Scuttle and Pirate’s Plunder are both fully enclosed body slides, complete with twists and turns before landing in the splash pool. Buccaneer Bay is a three-story structure for the entire family with ten platforms and nearly 50 interactive play features.
