Summer at Meridian Street is a day camp that offers children the opportunity to explore their creativity, visit fun sites and make friends. Serving children K-8 grades, each week-long, full-day camp includes a variety of opportunities including music, arts, athletics, outdoor adventures, swimming, science, leadership and service. Extended care is also available.

What makes your camp unique?

Summer at Meridian Street provides campers with the opportunity to be themselves and make new friends in a safe, faith-based environment. Weekly field and swim trips are included with your weekly camp fee. Daily clubs offer children a way to customize their week to their own interests and are led by educators and a highly trained staff.

What activities are offered at your camp?

Weekly activites at camp include: field trips (The Children’s Museum, The Indianapolis Zoo, sports complexes, local parks, etc.), swim days (Monon Community Center), movie days, theme days and sports days – all included in your weekly camp fee. For a full list of weekly summer activities, see: meridianstreet.org/summer. Each day also includes Summer at Meridian Street clubs. This is a wonderful opportunity for campers to choose multiple clubs based on their own interests. Offerings include, art & animation, sports, science, cooking, books, Legos, leadership & service, and yoga.

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?

At full capacity, the camper-to-counselor ratio is 10-1.

How much time do the campers spend outside?

Depending on the day’s activities (and weather) a significant amount of the day is spent outdoors.

Does the camp provide lunch/snacks or do parents need to provide them?

Summer at Meridian Street provides 2 snacks each day. Campers are required to bring their own nonperishable lunch items.

What is the typical daily schedule for campers?

The typical day at Summer at Meridian Street includes:
• Before camp care (optional)
• Welcome Circle (Prayer, Song, & Preview of Day)
• Field Trips or Clubs
• Lunch
• Camp Sport, Movie or Clubs
• After camp care (optional)

How old are the counselors and how are they trained?

Our camp is staffed by educators in the public school system. They are assisted by counselors-in-training, composed of college and high school students. All of the Summer at Meridian Street staff and counselors-in-training undergo a criminal background check, are CPR certified, and receive camp-specific safety training through Ministry Safe.

What accommodations are made for campers with special needs?

The church and grounds are handicapped accessible and every possible accommodation will be made to make your camper comfortable and included.
