Q&A with Kiddie Academy of Chatham Hills:

What makes Kiddie Academy of Chatham Hills unique?

At Kiddie Academy of Chatham Hills, we aim to make your child’s summer fun as well as educational. Our CampVentures program and curriculum do exactly that through themed events and activities as well as trips, if permitted. Your child will enjoy playing games that are developmentally appropriate for their age group, explore the world around them and express their creativity.

Each week has a different theme based on each of the following categories:

Theatrical Arts
World Cultures
Creative Arts

Whether taking a road trip across the USA, creating a puppet show, learning all about Australia, or participating in a talent show, CampVentures awakens a world of fun, learning, and friendships for your child.

What activities are offered at Kiddie Academy of Chatham Hills?

We offer the following activities:

Others activities will be added as the daily schedules for each age group are finalized.

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?

The camper- to-counselor ratio varies based on the age of the camper. Following are the ratios for each age group:

24 months – 30 months: 5 to 1

How much time do the campers spend outside?

Nature, outdoor learning, and physical development are key components of our CampVentures program. Weather permitting, children engage in games, activities designed to build knowledge, skills and confidence in these areas. Our playground is approximately 9000 square feet and 100% artificial turf. It includes a tricycle track, a basketball court, a soccer field, and numerous age appropriate playground equipment. Typically, children will be outside at least 3 times per day for a period of time that is appropriate for their age group.

Does the camp provide lunch/snacks or do parents need to provide them?

Kiddie Academy provides a morning and afternoon snack as well as a hot lunch that is prepared on-site daily. We also provide campers who arrive prior to or at 8:00 a.m. with breakfast at no additional charge. We do encourage each camper to bring a water bottle to use throughout the day.

How old are the counselors and how are they trained?

All of our teachers/counselors meet and/or exceed the educational requirements established by the State of Indiana. Many of our teachers/counselors have their Bachelors in Early Childhood Education and/or Elementary Education or their CDA. All of our employees must successfully complete employee orientation as well as several on-line training courses prior too engaging with any of our campers.

Will the Kiddie Academy be taking any field trips to venues away from the Academy?

At this time, we are working under the assumption that the restrictions currently in place limiting social gatherings and events will be lifted by the second week in June. As a result, we are planning field trips. However, we will abide by the regulations and recommendations of the CDC and the Hamilton County Health Department in place at the time of the proposed field trip.
