Guerin Catholic is located on seventy acres in the heart of Hamilton County, just five miles north of Indianapolis. The school was founded in 2004, and has been consistently recognized by the Cardinal Newman Society as one of the Top 50 Catholic High Schools in the nation. We offer a one-to-one laptop-learning environment, putting cutting edge technology at our students’ fingertips. Guerin Catholic is an open enrollment, diocesan, college preparatory school that offers all students the opportunity to lead and serve others, to challenge themselves with a rigorous academic program, and to be formed in their faith. Our curriculum and teaching methods are rooted in our core values of honor, servant leadership, and excellence. What is Guerin Catholic’s age/grade range?

Guerin Catholic High School serves students in grades 9-12. We also offer Camp Purple, a summer camp program for students in grades K-8, during June and July.

Guerin Catholic is an open enrollment, diocesan, college preparatory school that offers students the opportunity to lead and serve others, to challenge themselves with a rigorous academic program, and to be formed in their faith.

The deadline for Admissions applications for the Class of 2025 is December 15, 2020.
The deadline for Tuition Assistance applications is December 15, 2020.

Transfer students require an admissions application, a Sending School Recommendation Form and an interview. Applicants will be offered acceptance based on availability in their class.

Does Guerin Catholic offer financial assistance?

Guerin Catholic offered $1.6 million in financial assistance for the 2019-20 academic year. As an open-enrollment school committed to the evangelizing mission of the Catholic church, we strive to manage available resources to ensure that Guerin Catholic is accessible, affordable, and available to all who seek a Catholic education for their children.

Guerin Catholic will make every effort to assist families with a demonstrated financial need. We offer our own need-based tuition assistance program, participate in the State of Indiana Choice Scholarship Program and provides scholarship funding for eligible students through Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs).

Eighth-grade students may earn a Presidential or Academic Scholarship based on their High School Placement Test s(HSPT) score.

What are the standard school day hours?

A typical school day starts at 7:45 am, with a late start at 8:45 on Wednesdays. The school day ends at 3:15 pm (3:25 pm on late-start Wednesdays). The academic calendar is organized on a trimester schedule, with three 12-week terms in each school year.

Does Guerin Catholic offer before/after school care? Does Guerin Catholic offer afterschool activities?

Guerin Catholic High School does not offer a before and after school program but students may enter the building starting at 6:30 am. The Academic wings close at 5 pm.

Guerin Catholic offers over 30 extracurricular clubs and 24 athletic teams, with over 80% of the student body participating in sports. Our Fine Arts department offers six choirs, six instrument ensembles, ten visual arts courses and 3 performing arts shows.

Is there a uniform or dress code?

Yes. Monday through Thursday students wear black, white or purple polo shirts, khaki pants (boys and girls) or khaki skirts (girls), and optional approved sweater or sweatshirt. On days when there is an All-School Mass, both boys and girls wear the white uniform oxford shirt with uniform bottoms (pants/skirt). Boys wear a tie with the uniform oxford on All-School Mass days. Fridays are spirit days unless it is an All-School Mass or Holy Day of Obligation. All uniforms are purchased from Lands’ End, the approved school uniform provider.

Does Guerin Catholic offer support for students with special needs?

In the words of St. Mother Theodore Guerin, “Love the Children First, then Teach Them”, rest assured, we at Guerin Catholic are committed to your child every step of the way!

Guerin Catholic’s Learning Support Program provides academic support to students with learning challenges. The program provides resources and extensive individual support for continued development of a student’s study skills and strategies to become independent learners, and grow toward self-advocacy all while achieving their own educational goals. Students, parents, and the Director of Learning Support will meet one-on-one to develop an individual academic plan for each child to ensure growth and success in Guerin Catholic’s college preparatory curriculum.

Guerin Catholic also offers The Wings Academy, an educational program designed to serve families of students with cognitive disabilities who desire an inclusive Catholic education for their children.

At Guerin Catholic homework is assigned on a class-by-class basis. In all cases, homework is given to students to supplement the learning in the classroom and provide opportunities to engage more deeply with the course content. Students are provided regular opportunities to get help and support from their teachers on assignments during our Kairos period each day as well as during scheduled teacher office hours.

What specialty classes / extracurricular activities does Guerin Catholic offer (gym, art, language, sports etc.)?

A comprehensive liberal arts curriculum of 125 courses emphasizes preparation for college. In addition to offering the Indiana Core 40 Diploma, Guerin Catholic High School also offers the Indiana Academic Honors Diploma and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.


 Guerin Catholic requires all students to carry ID cards and all drivers to display a parking pass to ensure that all individuals on campus can be identified. All guests to campus must be admitted to the building by the front-office staff and receive a guest badge. Our School Safety Specialists Team meets on a monthly basis to review and renew our safety policies and ensure that all students and staff are adequately trained to respond to any unsafe situation that might arise on our campus.
