Madame Mixie's Color Lab Adventure

Families can join GPL and PBS/WFYI for a morning celebrating the PBS Kids show Carl the Collector, which follows Carl, an autistic raccoon who loves collecting things. The program highlights social and emotional learning topics like self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and self-identity through Carl’s perspective.

The event includes a brief clip of the show, followed by hands-on activities families can explore at their own pace. The sensory space, Exploration Stations, will also be open with additional sensory-friendly activities. Local organizations Autism Community Connection, Indiana Family to Family, and IN*SOURCE will be on site for families looking for resources.

Registration is required for all attendees, including parents and caregivers. Registration opens to library card holders on 2/2 and to the general public on 2/16. If the program is full, families are still welcome to use the play spaces and visit with the local organizations.
