Carmel Music Academy

With a goal of making music lessons fun and positive, Jon E. Gee (of the John Mellencamp Band) and wife Mrs. Gee, have built their music lesson studio Jon E. Gee’s Music Room.

It has gone from Jon E. Gee being the sole instructor teaching bass and guitar, into the newly named Carmel Music Academy. Today, Carmel Music Academy employs an academy coordinator and 6 instructors, who teach 8 different musical instruments. Carmel Music Academy will be celebrating the studio’s new name change Thursday, August 27th thru Sunday, August 30th. The celebration begins with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony, Thursday, August 27th at 3:00p.m., with special guests Congresswoman Susan Brooks and Carmel Mayor James Brainard, also in attendance will be the Carmel Chamber of Commerce. The 4 day open house hours are Thursday and Friday August 27th and 28th 3:00p.m. – 8:00p.m., Saturday, August 29th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, August 30th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 p.m. The festivities will include a drawing for a free guitar, food, giveaways, face painting, balloon art and live student demonstrations. All this will take place at Carmel Music Academy, 13295 Illinois Street #117, Carmel IN. Carmel Music Academy offers lessons in Guitar (Electric & Acoustic), Piano, Voice, Bass Guitar, Drums, Mandolin, Ukulele, Violin and Banjo.

The Academy is now on course for receiving 150 students, kids, teens and adults ages 6 years to senior citizens. They work with all skill levels and genres of music such as, Pop, Rock, Metal, Country, R & B, Classical, and more. In teaching all ages and genres of music, students learn the songs they want to learn. Both Jon E. Gee and Mrs. Gee heard too many adults say that they had to take music lessons as a child and hated it, which is why they focus on making learning music fun.

Jon E. Gee says,“It’s Music, Not Math!” “Music should be fun. It should be positive.” Mrs. Gee says, “We always try to make sure our students are here because it is fun and they want to be here.” they both say, “We hire Instructors who care passionately about each of the students, and the prosperity that the music brings to each of their lives!” Jon E. Gee and Mrs. Gee will be releasing their book ‘Our Book On Music Lessons’ in the fall in time for the holidays. For more information, Call 317-581-1030 or click here.
