For 73 years, the Historic Irvington Halloween Festival has brought together thousands of residents, dozens of neighborhood organizations, and countless Eastside businesses in a fun-filled celebration of our heritage and community. The festival and its associated events are designed to bring awareness to the community, to bring commerce to local business and sponsors, and to provide fun for the children of Irvington and Indianapolis. The celebration now encompasses a week of events including a 5 mile run, a scholarship pageant, musicians, contests, Halloween-themed movies, storytelling, ghost tours, live theater, masquerade ball, a haunted puppet show and dozens of other events. Free!

It’s the ArtsPark Fall Festival at the Indianapolis Art Center, and we’re celebrating with crisp ciders, pumpkin decorating, our Annual Faculty Show Exhibition Series, and more! Experience all your favorite fall activities with the entire family! Sip on fresh-pressed cider while carving pumpkins or pressing a new print to hang on your home’s wall. Pumpkin carving/painting is free for all! There will also be a handful of fall-themed paid activities to keep the fun going. Food and drink will be available for purchase. Free!

When: October 19, 3:00 – 5:00pm
The Indiana State Police Museum is calling all witches, goblins, superheroes, and zombies to come trick-or-treat with the Indiana State Police. Troopers and local police officers will be on hand to give out candy from the trunks of cars to all children in costume. There will be games and craft activities for all visitors. Come early though, as our supply of “treats” is limited, but you won’t run out of things to look at in the ISP Museum! Free!

If trick-or-treat is ever difficult for your kiddo, we have a great solution! Come to our Sensory Friendly Trick-or-Treat Walk where friendly volunteers will be dressed-up without scary or frightening masks or costumes along Central Park Trails. You can go as fast or as leisurely as you need while you enjoy this festive fall experience. Only trick or treaters need to be registered, but pre-registration is required. $5
