Enjoy weekends of fun during ZooBoo at the Indianapolis Zoo

When the autumn breeze rustles the leaves and the wild things come out to play, it must be time for ZooBoo at the Indianapolis Zoo, presented by Central Indiana Honda Dealers!

The Indianapolis Zoo’s beloved Halloween event is back for a 35th year, offering spooktacular fun every Friday through Sunday from Oct. 7-30. The Zoo opens at 9am daily, and guests are encouraged to come early then stay late for ZooBoo activities from 2-7pm.

Mild seasonal temperatures mean the Zoo’s animals will be out and active, providing the perfect backdrop for all the festivities. And the animals even get into the spirit of the season with extra Zookeeper chats, Halloween-themed enrichment and special activities, like the pumpkin-splattering fun of the Elephant Pumpkin Smash presented by Sam’s Club.

Children are encouraged to dress up in their favorite wild costumes and bring a reusable bag to gather a few goodies along the Trick-or-Treat Trail presented by Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent, located in Plains. Treat bags will also be provided by Farmers Insurance. A sweet selection of fall treats will also be available for purchase.

Families can find lots of additional activities throughout the Zoo. The little ones will love dashing through the obstacle course at Broomstick Alley presented by MedExpress, located in the Kroger Splash Park. Behind the Simon Skjodt International Orangutan Center, visitors can stroll to Spooktacular Square presented by Macy’s to enjoy Monster Music and Pumpkin Bowling. For a bit of mystery, guests can visit the Dolphin Gallery to discover the artifact touch boxes presented by Hensley Legal Group, PC. Plus, there’s some Spider Fun presented by Metro PCS with Spider Toss and more in Flights of Fancy.

The Zoo’s rides will also feature a festive twist, including the Round-Go-Merry presented by State Farm — the carousel that moves in reverse — and the Spooktacular Train Ride presented by Damar Services, which offers an enchanted journey with a special treat.

ZooBoo is included with regular Zoo admission and free to Zoo members. Discount tickets are also available at Indianapolis-area Donatos and Indiana Members Credit Union locations. Guests can also plan their visit in advance at IndianapolisZoo.com.
